A close and ongoing partnership between parents, child and our team during successive well child clinics will produce excellent results.
Our teams will be involved in the education of family and child , encouraging good development and habits. We will assess the physical, mental, behavioural, social, and emotional growth and development of your child at each visit, as well as check vision and hearing.
We will be on the lookout for any developmental delay or disability, as early diagnosis and treatment can lessen the impact on your child and family.
Most importantly you will have the opportunity to ask questions about your child’s health and development. Don’t be shy – bring your list! We are here to help you navigate through any concerns you may have such as sleeping, eating, toilet training, attention and learning problems, and social behaviours.
The first two years of your child’s life are marked by amazing growth and development, and it’s important for your paediatrician to monitor them closely. That’s why there are so many scheduled visits within the first 24 months.
How should I prepare for a well toddler clinic?
- Make notes about anything you’ve noticed about your child’s health and development, including any behavioural changes.
- Make a list of questions for the doctor and encourage your child to ask questions about their own health too. The Well-Visit Planner can help you to identify what questions you want to bring up.
- Gather information for your doctor to take to the visit with you, such as the red book, to help your doctor have a better picture of your toddler.
