She obtained her postgraduate certification in clinical education from King’s College University London in 2016 and holds memberships in the Higher Education Authority and the Academy of Medical Educators. In addition to her private practice, Dr Burmester has been a consultant paediatric intensivist at the Royal Brompton Hospital in London since 2002. In this role, she has been responsible for overseeing the care of critically ill children and leading a team of medical professionals. She also held the position of director of paediatric intensive care from 2009 to 2023, where she implemented innovative strategies to improve patient outcomes.
